Companies woo the weed crowd with artful, edgy ads
Sun Jan 19, 2014
I fully agree with you here. The airlines advertise about flying to ski vacations, but it doesn't mean I'm going to be making snow angels while I'm flying. I can only assume that Kevin Sabet is an absolute idiot, with no critical thinking skills. If anyone reports to this guy at SAM, you better ask …
Growing the pot industry: A test of American business ingenuity
Tue Jan 14, 2014
Nope, it won't cost more when legal. What you see now is a mad rush. What you will see in a year will be totally different. If outlets are still selling at such high rates, people will just grow their own, which is very easy. This will drive down prices. Imagine if tomatoes cost $30/lb. Would you bu …
Target CEO promises to make 'significant changes' after huge data breach
Sun Jan 12, 2014
People have been asking for EMV chip-pin for a while, but the cost scares away too many people here in the US. It's sad to think we need an event that might effect up to half the adults in the US for it to become a 'real' issue. Yes, Target will fix the loophole that allowed this to happen, but that …
Power play: Utilities want solar users to pay up
Thu Jan 9, 2014
Simple solution. For power that you generate you should get direct credit for what you use that month. If you generate more than what you used, then the rate for that additional amount should be at wholesale prices. This would encourage people to design systems that match the size of their houses.
High Demand: Price of legal marijuana soars in Colorado
Thu Jan 2, 2014
@SteveMW: actually, pot you can get now is often more powerful than you had in the 60's. A big reason is the popularity of it, how easy it is to grown indoors, and knowing how to grow sensei instead of seedy weed. You can still get mexi-brick at $60-70oz here in Cen Tex, but the good stuff goes for …
Horrifying video shows crucial moment Asiana Flight 214 crashed at SF airport
Wed Dec 11, 2013
I read some very good follow ups on this, and just for the record, it will be VERY hard to change the culture in those planes. I've lived in Korea both in the military and as a civilian, and it is ingrained into people to respect their elders, no matter the situation. Having them behave differently …
Supreme Court reluctant to expand frequent flier lawsuits
Tue Dec 3, 2013
If they didn't like him calling and asking for compensation, perhaps they should have just said 'no' to a couple of his requests. While the terms of their contract said 'their discretion', that is a bogus stipulation in any contract. It leaves you without any recourse in case a company truly does sc …
Is Vladimir Putin rewriting Russia's history books?
Thu Nov 28, 2013
@ George: I'm not sure it's the right wing as much as it's the winners. Look at the US. Do you think the way we read about Thanksgiving is the way the Indians would have written about it? Or ask the survivors of Hiroshima and Nagasaki about WW2 and the bomb. It's not that we wrote it wrong, it's jus …
Thanksgiving shopping? Not in states that ban it
Wed Nov 27, 2013
Very simply, either gov't regulation on this type of stuff is good, or it's bad. To selectively say it's good on this day, but not this other day is just hypocrisy. I grew up in Blue Law, and live currently in a area with dry counties. In the example of RI, those in the state can walk the 100ft acr …
Amazing ice circle found spinning on North Dakota river
Wed Nov 27, 2013
It ain't natural. That floating ice disk is juiced up on 'roids. Someone call BALCO and start the investigation. Also, could you break me off a chunk, I need some ice for me bourbon.
